BZRK. A Book by Michael Grant.

BZRK is the title of a new book by Michael Grant. This link will take you to his bio, which pretty much sums up what you need to know about him and will probably make you laugh. If his name sounds familiar, you have probably read the Animorphs books that he wrote with his wife, author K.A. Applegate.
He wrote the Gone series as well, and the newest book in that series, Fear, which comes out on April 3.
My students, known as Angel Potatoes, and I are big fans of Michael Grant.
His book BZRK has been out for about a month.
The thing about this book is that you will read it with your mouth hanging open pretty much the whole time.
Nanotechnology takes on new, real, raw meaning.
One of my students bought a copy because my copy was checked out.
She came in with her hair on fire.
Here is our conversation.
Student: "My eyes! My eyes!"
Me: "I know! I think mascara will help protect them. And the Meat!"
We nod and shudder in a happy way.
And another student says, "Wait, what book is this?"
Student tries to describe BZRK. The other student gets on the waiting list for the book.
It doesn't take a whole lot to make my day.

    1. Hooray for books that kids want to read, that they don't want or need Cliff notes for, and that stick in their heads. This is how the world will be saved.
      Thank you for your comment!

  3. I love it, Kristen! The post that is. This is actually one book that I have not read yet. I've been super swamped with review books, blog tours and events that ever since it released I have not been able to relax and enjoy the awesomeness of Mr. Grant. Soon! (Probably not until after my BIG PASSENGER event) At least I love what I'm doing, eh?

Thanks again for the superb post. You rock my socks, dollface.

    1. Amy, you are one of those people who makes the world a better place. CAN'T WAIT for your BIG PASSENGER event! The good news is that the book will be there when you come up for air, and you love what you are doing, and that makes you A Queen of Human-Beingness.
      Dollface. I love that.

  8. Ok, so, here's my deal with Michael Grant. I LOVED Gone. Blazed through it. Then I moved on to the next in the series, which I actually could not finish, despite wanting desperately to know what happened next, because of the WORMS WITH TEETH. I've never been so impossibly, viscerally grossed out by a book before. That said...I'm thinking I may give it another shot, maybe this summer, because the first book was SO GOOD. And one of my students just told me she was really excited to read BZRK, so I'll have to check it out.
